چکیده

Abstract Diminishing hydrocarbon reserves in oil reservoirs and the need to sustain continuous production have prompted researchers further investigate Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) techniques. Researchers also test run these processes before EOR fluid injection into reservoir maximise whilst minimising damage loss. This study aims simulate displacement during of two different types fluid, namely water polymer, using a commercial CFD software known as ANSYS Fluent. A heterogeneous 2D micromodel that has randomised pore network was selected basis flow system. By doing so, it is hoped replicate prototype an innovative approach geometry appropriately simplifies complex properties represented. Initially, fully saturated with crude oil. Then, polymer are injected separately on case-to-case at flowrate 0.8 mL/min. Visual inspection phase fraction contour results found flooded had smaller regions volume compared micromodel. Polymer more branched fingering front The analysis flooding better efficiency traditional due higher mobility ratio, reduced viscous lower residual saturation.

Application of Nanoparticles for Chemical Enhanced Oil Recovery

In this paper, the potentials of using particles, especially nanoparticles, in enhanced oil recovery is investigated. The effect of different nanoparticles on wettability alteration, which is an important method to increase oil recovery from oil-wet reservoirs, is reviewed. The effect of different kinds of particles, namely solid inorganic particles, hydrophilic or hydrophobic nanoparticles, an...

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

Isolation and study of microorganisms from oil samples for application in Microbial Enhanced Oil Recovery

Microbial Enhanced Oil Recovery (MEOR) is potentially useful to increment oil recovery from a reservoir beyond primary and secondary recovery operations using microorganisms and their metabolites. Stimulation of bacterial growth for biosurfactant production and degradation of heavy oil fractions by indigenous microorganisms can enhance the fluidity and reduce the capillary forces that retain th...
